Kurt Vonnegut died yesterday. I’ve always heard he was a great novelist, but haven’t ever read any of his books—the only work of his that I’ve read is the short story “Harrison Bergeron”. I think Slaughterhouse Five is supposed to be the canonical Vonnegut book, maybe I should pick up a copy.
Sadface. Personally, I liked Cat’s Cradle.
Cat’s Cradle is the other one I’ve heard cited a lot. Sometimes people mention Breakfast of Champions, but an equal number of people seem to hate it with a burning passion.
That’s basically the Vonnegut Trifecta. I’ve only read Slaughterhouse V, but it’s pretty amazing.
