It’s the autumnal equinox today, so the summer thread is officially outdated. Meanwhile, it is also thesis-writing season, so expect less interesting pictures as I spend much of my time in front of the computer.

I’m not sure what that bug is (it looks really cool, however!).
Over here, we’ve been seeing crickets, praying mantises (they’ve got to pray just to make it today), and *gasp* hornets. (I am jinxing myself, but I’ve only seen one angry hornet so far. It joined me for lunch on Wednesday to make up for Lemming’s absence.)
I think that’s a ladybird beetle larvae?????
Anonymous: Shep said the same thing in the Flickr thread. Based solely on pictures from Wikipedia, I think this is correct.
Cloud picture is made of Win and Good.
That is a sweet sunset photo!
Keep us posted on how the interviews go!
Ugh, that sucks. Sorry to hear about this.
Did you know, by the way, that dissertations make good bludgeoning devices once they’re bounded? They might even work better than pepper spray…
In addition, something tells me that, perhaps, a dissertation left in the passenger’s seat might be an effective deterrent all by itself?
Where are you going? A job interview?
Yep, in New York City.
Everything looks beautiful, when you’re young and pretty.
Personal attractiveness and age aside, that shot is gorgeous!
That definitely is a sweet picture.
Which company in NYC? Maybe you can be a New York City boy? That would be absolutely fabulous!
Morgan Stanley (which could in principle have been deduced from yesterday’s picture and a knowledge of Times Square office buildings, but there’s no reason to be deliberately obscure about it)
My knowledge of Times Square office buildings is unfortunately subpar.
That picture makes me think of Shrek 2.
The sunset picture is pretty.
My copy of Super Mario Galaxy should arrive at Lemming’s place asap, and I’ll start playing it when I get back to the UK in January. Too bad my copy of Smash Brothers is going to take a while longer.
I have my stuff here now, so I need to investigate setting up my Wii when I get a chance. Hopefully, it (and my TV) will take the higher voltage and I can just use adaptors. Anyway, we’ll see when I have things set up…
“You think the pet rock was a good idea?”
“Sure it was! The guy made a million dollars! …You know…. I had an idea like that once, a long time ago.”
“Really? What was it, Tom?”
“Well, all right. It was a jump to CONCLUSIONS Chapter! You see, it’s this chapter, and it would have different conclusions on it that you could jump to!”
“That is the worst idea I’ve ever heard in my life.”
“Yes. It is horrible, this idea.”
Very nice laundry photo — awesome patterns!
Geese – reminds me of the new canaan athletic fields…
At what part of the board should we look for the doctored equations?
I liken this to the Perry Bible Fellowship comic Lyle’s Constant
ding/grats?
I remember that iPod vending machine from my overnight stay in the Dallas airport back in March.

It’s too bad you’re not doing it again. I really enjoyed this!
I’m very glad you enjoyed it! It’s possible I’ll do another Project 365 at a later date, but not anytime soon I think. One thing I do want to work on is pictures of people–most of the 365 pictures don’t have people in them, and the ones that do are usually not very good. So it might be worthwhile to do a Project 365 (or some similar project) with only photos that have people in them (but this might be very annoying to my friends who suddenly find themselves always on camera).
Most of the pictures I take tend not to have people in them. I have a certain fondness for pictures of scenery and patterns. I do like to get occasional pictures of my friends, however — occasionally when they’re not expecting it.
